fiske-sealMephisto Productions was founded in London in 2008 by producer Alexander Fiske-Harrison, financier Sir Martyn Arbib, and City investment bank Bragg, Stockdale, Hall & Co.

Mephisto was sole producer for the West End play The Pendulum, which opened to critical acclaim that same year.

In 2013 Mephisto began co-producing an untitled documentary documentary on bullfighting, directed by Stevan Riley, the Academy Award-nominated director of the 2015 Brando documentary Listen To Me Marlon (on which Fiske-Harrison was consultant) – and co-produced by John Battsek, Academy Award-winning producer of One Day In September.

Fiske-Harrison also consulted on the 2014 documentary Magician: The Astonishing Life and Work of Orson Welles directed by Chuck Workman, Academy Award-winning director of Precious Images.

magician-welles-2014In July 2018 Mephisto inaugurated its move into publishing, via the subsidiary Mephisto Press, with the book The Bulls Of Pamplona, the official guide to Fiesta of San Fermín in English, with a foreword from the mayor of the city, and chapters by famous bull-runners, bullfighters and aficionados, including John Hemingway, grandson of Ernest Hemingway, and Beatrice Welles, daughter of Orson Welles.
